Landslides obstruct Mid-hill Highway in Baglung

BAGLUNG: Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have blocked traffic on the Mid-hill Highway.

The Highway remains blocked at Khadukhola, Jirikhola, Kalapairakhola of Nisikhola Rural Municipality and Badigad Rural Municipality.

Ward President of Nisikhola-4 Tikanidhi Paudel told RSS that Burtibang-East Rukum section and Baglung-Burtibang section in Baglung have been completely blocked.

As a result, people traveling to Nisikhola, East Rukum, Jajarkot, Rolpa Pokhara and Kathmandu have been stranded.

Many returning to their village homes to celebrate Teej festival from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal and other cities have also been stranded on the way.

Night passenger bus coming from Kathmandu to East Rukum and Jajarkot remain stopped at Burtibang.

Ward president Paudel says that it will some time to open the road as it is still raining.
