Two die, one goes missing in Baglung floods

BAGLUNG: Flooding in the Bandre River in ward no. 4 of Baglung Municipality-4 has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left one person missing.

The incident occurred last night, when a motorcycle (Dha. 2 Pa. 8010) and a scooter (Dha. 1 Pa. 9996) were swept away by the floodwaters.

Arjun Sapkota, 23, and Abeshik Regmi, 22, both from Baglung-4, were confirmed dead.

A third individual, 20-year-old Kamal Sapkota from the same village, is still missing, according to Patap Paudel, police inspector at the District Police Office, Baglung.

The bodies of Sapkota and Regmi were recovered approximately 200 meters downstream from where they were swept away.

Search efforts for Kamal Sapkota are ongoing, but continuous rainfall is complicating the operation, according to police.
