34 districts at high risk of floods, landslides, and inundation



KATHMANDU: Meteorologists have warned that 34 districts across five provinces are at high risk of floods, landslides, and inundation on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The districts in Madhesh and Karnali provinces are not currently at high risk.

According to the Weather Forecast Division, 36 districts are categorized as being at medium risk and 7 districts are at low risk.

Due to the active monsoon, the districts facing the highest risk include Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, and Tehrathum in Koshi Province; Rasuwa, Chitwan, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Nuwakot, and Dolakha in Bagmati Province; Myagdi, Baglung, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, Nawalparasi East, Lamjung, and Gorkha in Gandaki Province.

Similarly, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Palpa, Gulmi, Nawalparasi West, Dang, Banke, Bardia, Pyuthan, and Arghakhanchi in Lumbini Province; and Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti, and Baitadi in Sudurpaschim Province are at high risk of landslides and floods.

Residents in these high-risk areas have been advised to remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions.
