Locals urged to remain alert as water level rises in Saptakoshi River

INARUWA: Locals have been urged to remain alert following a continuous rise in the water level of the Saptakoshi River due to incessant rain.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nabin Krishna Bhandari reported that 303,860 cusecs of water were flowing through the Koshi Barrage this evening.

Currently, 39 sluice gates of the barrage have been opened.

The water flow is constantly increasing.

As of 4:00 am today, 124,465 cusecs of water were flowing, which rose to 244,000 cusecs at 1:00 pm and 282,680 cusecs per second at 5:00 pm.

DSP Bhandari stated that security surveillance has been increased at the Koshi Barrage due to the rise in the water level and current.
