Franchise-based Volleyball League to be held



KATHMANDU: A franchise-based women’s volleyball league is going to be held in the federal capital.

Infinity Dreams Pvt. Ltd. which has been organizing the Everest Premier League Cricket will be organizing the league with the involvement of six different clubs.

The Nepal Volleyball Association has permitted Infinity Dreams Pvt Ltd to operate the Everest Women’s Volleyball League.

Accordingly, an agreement was signed by Nepal Volleyball Association President Jitendra Bahadur Chand and Infinity Dreams Pvt. Ltd.

Managing Director Amir Akhtar here on Friday.

Akhtar said that besides empowering women athletes through volleyball the tournament is also expected to help develop and expand the volleyball sport in the country.

The contract is valid for seven years.

On the occasion, Volleyball Association President Chand expressed the belief that the league would attract players to volleyball and also contribute to better performance in international competitions.

According to the association, the schedule of the league will be decided later.
