Landslide obstructs BP Highway

KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall has triggered a landslide that has blocked the BP Highway.

The landslide occurred at Kamirephad, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhuli.

Similarly, a landslide in Akarebhir, Golanjor Rural Municipality-6, has blocked the Mid-Hill Highway.

Authorities are currently working to clear the debris.

Due to floods and landslides, 11 highways across the country are completely obstructed.

According to the Department of Roads, 48 highways are partially operational.

The Dumre-Besisahar-Chame Road is blocked in three places, and the North-South Kaligandaki Highway project is obstructed in two locations.
