KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday afternoon approved Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s official visit to India.
PM Dahal is scheduled to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third term in office on Sunday.
“The Cabinet meeting has approved PM Dahal’s two-day visit to India,” said Minister for Communication and Information Technology and government spokesperson, Rekha Sharma.
According to a tweet by Sudhir Chaudhary, an Indian journalist, Prime Minister Dahal, the Bhutanese King, the Sri Lankan President, and the Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and Mauritius will attend the event.
In 2014, Modi’s historic swearing-in ceremony, following a resounding victory for the BJP, saw the participation of foreign leaders, highlighting India’s inclusive diplomatic outreach.
Notably, Modi has extended invitations exclusively to leaders of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations for his upcoming ceremony on Saturday, emphasizing India’s commitment to regional cooperation.
