Exact number of Nepali nationals enlisted in Russian Army is yet to be confirmed: Foreign Minister Shrestha

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha has stated that the exact number of Nepali nationals enlisted in the Russian Army is still to be confirmed.

During a meeting at Singha Durbar on Monday, Minister Shrestha emphasized that the government is diligently working on repatriating Nepali nationals enlisted in the Russian Army.

They are also seeking assistance from the Russian government to ascertain the precise number of Nepali nationals serving in their army.

Minister Shrestha further noted that the government has requested the repatriation of the deceased Nepali nationals and compensation for their families.

He mentioned that Russia has agreed to these demands.

Additionally, Minister Shrestha confirmed that the government is yet to determine the whereabouts of Bipin Joshi, who was captured by Hamas in Israel during the war.
