KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML, a coalition partner in the Dahal-led government, has affirmed its readiness to commence an investigation into the cooperative fraud case.

Mahesh Bartaula, the chief whip of the UML, emphasized the importance of addressing the demands put forth by the opposition party and initiating an investigation into the cooperative fraud case.

However, Bartaula clarified that the party opposes the investigation if the Nepali Congress insists on targeting specific individuals.

Bartaula further asserted that the Congress needs to articulate its demands clearly.

“The NC should specify whether it seeks an inquiry into the entire cooperative fraud case or into particular individuals.”

The Nepali Congress has been advocating for an investigation into the cooperative fraud case through a parliamentary committee, suspecting the involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
