Nepal braces for rain as Bihar’s low pressure system looms



KATHMANDU: The low pressure system originating from Bihar, India, has extended its influence into Nepal, raising the likelihood of rainfall.

Currently, westerly winds and local air currents, coupled with the low pressure system swirling around Bihar, are impacting Nepal’s weather patterns.

The Weather Forecasting Division has reported partly to mostly cloudy skies in the hilly regions of Nepal, while other areas remain predominantly clear.

This afternoon, the country is likely to expect continued cloud cover, with forecasts indicating the possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in select areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Additionally, isolated instances of light rain with thunder and lightning may occur in other hilly areas.

In high hills of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions, light snowfall is a possibility.

Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy conditions are expected to persist in hilly areas, particularly in the Koshi and Madhes provinces.

The likelihood of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning persists in parts of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki regions throughout the night, with isolated occurrences in other regions.
