Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: 299 industries registered under women’s leadership in Parsa

BIRGUNJ: In a significant stride towards gender equality in entrepreneurship, a total of 299 small industries were registered under women’s ownership in the first eight months of the current fiscal year in Parsa.

This milestone follows the government’s decision to levy a mere 35 percent fee for the registration of business enterprises under women’s leadership.

Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Chief of the Office of Cottage and Small Industries, revealed that an average of 10-12 industries are being registered in the district daily.

Among the 673 new industries registered in the district during this period, nearly half, totaling 299, are owned and led by women.

These industries encompass a wide range of sectors including sewing and cutting, beauty treatment, pisciculture, agriculture, and livestock farming.

According to the Office, these newly established industries have provided employment opportunities to 1,709 males and 1,280 females.

Additionally, the registration and renewal of these industries have contributed significantly to the state coffers, with revenue exceeding Rs 5.4 million.

The surge in women-led industries not only reflects the growing entrepreneurial spirit among women but also highlights the positive impact of supportive government policies.

It signifies a step forward in creating a more inclusive and equitable business environment in Parsa, fostering economic empowerment and self-reliance among women entrepreneurs.
