Pakistani citizen arrested with counterfeit Thai currency in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Authorities have detained a Pakistani citizen in possession of counterfeit Thai baht in Thamel, Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal, Nepal Police arrested 34-year-old Sherdaz Khan, a resident of Karachi, Pakistan.

Khan was found with 14 counterfeit Thai baht notes, each with a denomination of 1,000.

The arrest occurred when Khan attempted to exchange the counterfeit currency at Garima Bikas Bank in Thamel.

Security personnel in plain clothes apprehended him on Tuesday.
