KAPILBASTU: Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has instructed employees to focus on producing tangible results, assuring them that he is prepared to address their justified demands.

During an inspection of the Krishnanagar Customs and Internal Revenue Office, Minister Mahat emphasized that employee evaluations would be based on performance, irrespective of their positions and responsibilities.

Minister Mahat expressed confidence that meeting revenue targets is achievable through a realistic assessment of business practices, emphasizing the importance of discipline and transparency.

He urged customs and revenue employees to adapt to the evolving nature of trade and business.

Highlighting the interconnectedness of internal revenue and customs, he suggested that customs identify legal and illegal goods for easier trade and business monitoring from a revenue perspective.

Minister Mahat noted the inclusion of many goods under the tax net, allowing for better tracking of transaction volumes and income.

He emphasized the need to monitor the increasing number of service-based businesses, such as hotels and restaurants, and integrate them into the tax system.

Instructing employees to contribute to revenue growth while upholding discipline and transparency, Minister Mahat emphasized avoiding unnecessary harassment.

He called on customs and revenue employees to remain vigilant in their duties and responsibilities.
