KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has reiterated the party’s unwavering commitment to protecting and upholding democracy.

Speaking at a program in Bhaktapur, Lamichhane stressed that amid the emergence of numerous leaders and political entities in the country, their primary focus remains on safeguarding the democratic values.

Regardless of challenges, he asserted that the party is dedicated to ensuring the preservation of the country’s democratic principles.

Expressing his perspective on the role of RSP in the Parliament, Lamichhane highlighted their intention to play a responsible role in the House.

He emphasized prioritizing adherence to government laws, institutional protection, and constitutional amendments.

Lamichhane asserted his readiness to address any questions raised against him, viewing criticisms as opportunities to clarify his position.

He also suggested maintaining a clear distinction between journalism and politics while firmly stating that serving both simultaneously is impractical, urging for journalism to remain independent of political influence.
