Govt failed to deliver anticipated results: Gagan Thapa

RUPANDEHI: Expressing disappointment, Nepali Congress (NC) General Minister Gagan Thapa stated that the coalition government has failed to deliver the anticipated results since its formation.

Speaking at a program in Rupandehi on Tuesday, Thapa emphasized that the government’s achievements did not match the initial enthusiasm, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among the public.

He noted dissatisfaction even in areas where the coalition won elections, revealing extreme discontent during the dialogue tour.

Thapa underscored the urgent need for a change in the practice of forming alliances before elections, asserting that failure to do so would result in significant disappointment within the party.

As a member of the House of Representatives, he highlighted the various challenges raised by the public during the dialogue tour, particularly focusing on national issues related to physical infrastructure.

Thapa also pointed out the delayed completion of projects after 10-12 years, non-operational health institutions, issues in the agricultural sector, as well as challenges in cooperatives, microfinance, and foreign employment.

Reflecting on the Hulaki Highway project, Thapa remarked that its intended purpose had not brought substantial changes to citizens’ lifestyles and the agricultural sector.
