Temperature dips in Kathmandu Valley following brief rise

KATHMANDU: Amid weather fluctuations and intermittent rain, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley, which experienced a temporary increase for a day or two, is on the decline once more.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, at 5:45 am today (Tuesday), the minimum temperature in the valley plummeted to 4.0 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature will be reassessed at 8:45 a.m., and there is a possibility of a further decrease.

On Monday, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley stood at 6.7 degrees Celsius.

If the night sky is cloudy, the minimum temperature tends to decrease in the morning. Conversely, if the night sky is clear, the morning minimum temperature tends to drop, according to the Division.

The recent weather change and rain caused cloudy conditions, leading to the earlier rise in minimum temperature.

However, with scattered clouds last night and a mostly clear sky, the minimum temperature dropped this morning.

The maximum temperature in the valley is likely to reach between 18 to 20 degrees today.

On Monday, the maximum temperature in Kathmandu Valley recorded at 19.8 degrees Celsius.

It’s worth noting that the minimum temperature of a day is measured by 8:45 am, while the maximum temperature is recorded at 5:45 pm within a 24-hour cycle.
