In an official press release today, Krishna Prasad Poudel, the Chief Secretary of the NC party office, conveyed the party’s serious attention towards the unfortunate death resulting from gunfire by security forces. The NC extended heartfelt tributes to the deceased and conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved family.

The party urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation to understand the reality of the incident, provide necessary treatment to the injured, and address the genuine concerns raised by the demonstrators. The NC also appealed to all parties to adopt peaceful and non-violent means when voicing their rights, while calling on security forces and other stakeholders to exercise restraint.

Meanwhile, local authorities in Sarlahi have extended the curfew imposed in Barahathawa since Friday afternoon, citing the potential for further unrest following the tragic incident.
