Unified Socialist secretariat convenes to deliberate on National Assembly election strategy

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist), a crucial constituent of the Dahal-led government, has initiated a secretariat meeting at its central office in Aloknagar.

The ongoing session is anticipated to focus on the party’s strategy and allocation of seats in the forthcoming National Assembly election.

The party is advocating for four out of the 19 vacant seats in the National Assembly, while the ruling coalition appears inclined to allocate only three seats.

As the tension brews over seat distribution, the meeting aims to deliberate on a unified stance for the upcoming election, scheduled for January 25. The contest is poised to be a showdown between the ruling alliance and the primary opposition party, CPN-UML.

In tandem, the ruling alliance is slated to convene at 4 PM later today to engage in discussions regarding the distribution of seats among its member parties.
