KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has urged government employees to work harder on collecting revenue. In a meeting with secretaries and heads of departments at the Ministry of Finance, he encouraged them to exceed average performance and involve their teams more effectively.

Despite a 13 percent increase in revenue compared to last year, Paudel warned against becoming complacent, stating that ordinary efforts will lead to ordinary results. He stressed the importance of collecting taxes according to the law and addressing any issues quickly.

Paudel also highlighted the need for better cooperation between security agencies and other organizations to prevent revenue losses. He instructed officials not to give leniency to those who fail to meet revenue targets and to take necessary action.

He assured that the government would support reforms to improve revenue collection processes. Key officials, including the Finance Secretary and Revenue Secretary, attended the meeting.
