KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has called for active participation from everyone to make the campaign against human trafficking successful.
In a message marking the 18th National Anti-Human Trafficking Day, Prime Minister Oli extended his best wishes, emphasizing that this day could inspire greater efforts to eradicate human trafficking.
The observance is held under the slogan, “Commitment of Three-Tier Governments: Solidarity of All against Human Trafficking.”
“Human trafficking and smuggling are heinous crimes against civilization. The nature, form, and destination of these crimes have evolved over time,” the Prime Minister’s message states.
“Many women are trafficked while seeking domestic work in countries where Nepalese foreign employment is restricted. Additionally, teenage girls working in the entertainment sector are also at high risk of trafficking.”
Prime Minister Oli noted that the government is implementing various awareness programs to combat the trafficking of children and teenage girls.
He also highlighted the government’s commitment to strictly enforcing laws designed to end human trafficking.
