KATHMANDU: Maoist Center lawmaker Madhav Sapkota has expressed concerns that the government may be attempting to establish an ‘autocracy’ in the country.

He voiced these suspicions during today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

Sapkota criticized the recent dismissal of two members from the Board of Directors of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), stating, “Looking at the recent developments, including the dismissal of Kapil Acharya and Bhakta Bahadur from NEA, it appears that rules have been violated.”

He further stated, “I want to strongly refute this incident and express my suspicion that the government is attempting to run an autocracy in this country.”
