KATHMANDU: The ruling Maoist Center is preparing to call back ministers who have completed one year in office.

Speaking to Khabarhub, a Maoist Center leader said that the party is set to recall ministers who have completed their one-year term and send new faces to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s cabinet.

According to the leader, Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, and Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet are likely to leave the cabinet.

Sources at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat confirmed that Prime Minister Dahal is preparing to reshuffle the Cabinet next week and is holding informal meetings with leaders of the ruling coalition partners for this purpose.

Finance Minister Barshaman Pun and Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Hit Bahadur Tamang will continue in their roles, the Maoist Center leader added.

Additionally, CPN-UML leaders revealed that Ranjita Shrestha, Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, will likely be appointed as the Minister for Tourism next week. However, Maoist General Secretary Dev Gurung stated that no formal decision has been made yet.

On Monday, Prime Minister Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli held talks at Singha Durbar. Sources indicated they agreed to appoint Shrestha as the Minister of Tourism.
