Journalism and Mass Communication Department of TU establishes Alumni Forum



KATHMANDU: Former students of Tribhuvan University’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication convened on Thursday to establish an Alumni Forum.

The meeting, initiated by Head of Department Professor Chiranjeevi Khanal, saw the election of Madhav Prasad Tiwari as President, Leela Bhattarai as Vice President, Shanta Ram Bidari as Secretary, and Poornima Parajuli as Treasurer.

Notable members of the committee include Lokendra KC, Helima Rai, Baburam Timalsina, Sunil Paudel, Praveen Pokharel, Kumar Singh Bista, Sougat Mishra, Somprasad Dotel, and Santoga Rokaya.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Khanal emphasized the significant contributions of the university’s alumni, who are serving both nationally and internationally.

The university has been offering post-graduate courses in Journalism and Mass Communication since 2058 BS, which have expanded to include doctoral programs since 2067 BS.
