Pro-unity faction of Scientific Socialist Communist Party to join Nepali Communist Party



KATHMANDU: The pro-unity faction of the Scientific Socialist Communist Party is set to formally merge into the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) today. The group, leaving the Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal along with its leadership from central to district levels, will be officially integrated at a program scheduled for 4 PM at the NCP central office in Paris Danda.

The leadership joining includes central member and Secretariat official Dhankumari Sunar, who will lead the group. Others joining the NCP include Ganesh Rasaili, central advisory committee member; Yasoda Baral, central member and Far-Western Province coordinator of the women’s organization; and Bikram Sunar, district committee member from Kailali and coordinator of the Caste System Eradication Front.

Additionally, leaders and activists such as Tulsi Pariyar, Priya Baral, Dipa Rana, Hema Sunar, Sangita Sijapati, Karita Sijapati, Sumitra Khati, Sharmila Jizar, Kamala Pisi, and Rita Nepali, the women’s organization coordinator from Kanchanpur district, are also scheduled to join the party.

The program will be attended by NCP Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Co-Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, who will welcome the new members. Officials said the merger aims to strengthen party unity and consolidate the leftist movement.
