CWC meeting of NC commences in Budhanilkantha, likely to withdraw support

KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) has started at the residence of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.

The meeting, which began an hour later than the scheduled time at Deuba’s residence, is gearing up to make a decision regarding the withdrawal of support extended to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’

Ramesh Lekhak, the chief whip of the NC parliamentary party, mentioned that some crucial decisions would be taken during the CWC meeting.

On Sunday evening, Prime Minister Dahal, by diverting the leadership of the Congress, formed a new coalition with the CPN-UML leadership, opposing the then-existing alliance.

The new ruling coalition comprises the CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Janata Samajwadi Party.
