KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar made a spiritual stop at the revered Pashupatinath Temple on Friday morning during his official visit to Kathmandu.

Minister Jaishankar’s visit to the iconic temple comes as part of his engagements in the Nepalese capital.

The Indian Foreign Minister arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday morning to participate in the seventh edition of the Nepal-India Joint Commission meeting. During the commission meeting, held on Thursday, Minister Jaishankar engaged in discussions and conducted separate meetings with key political figures, including President Ram Chandra Poudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and other prominent leaders like Sher Bahadur Deuba and KP Sharma Oli.

In addition to diplomatic discussions, Minister Jaishankar took a moment for spiritual reflection at the Pashupatinath Temple and engaged in plantation, a sacred Hindu site in Kathmandu. The temple visit underscores the cultural and spiritual ties that connect the two neighboring countries.

As part of his itinerary, Minister Jaishankar is set to return to India later this afternoon, concluding his brief yet significant diplomatic visit to Nepal.
