Fly Dubai and Jazeera Airways to launch flights at Gautam Buddha Int’l Airport

KATHMANDU: Fly Dubai Airlines from UAE and Jazeera Airways from Kuwait are scheduled to begin operations at Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bhairahawa.

Fly Dubai is scheduled to commence daily flights starting November 9, while Jazeera Airways will operate three flights a week beginning November 10.

According to information officer Binod Singh Raut, the airport’s Information Officer, Fly Dubai will arrive in Bhairahawa from Dubai at 1:45 p.m. daily.

The flight will then depart for Kathmandu at 2:45 p.m. before continuing on to Dubai.

Jazeera Airways, which has previously operated from Gautam Buddha International Airport, will arrive in Bhairahawa on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m.

It is scheduled to depart for Kuwait at 8:30 am.

It may be noted that Thai Asia Airlines officially commenced flights between Bangkok and Bhairahawa starting Sunday.

At 6:05 on Sunday morning, the inaugural ThaiAsia flight landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport, carrying seven crew members.

“Initially, this was a test flight. The Airbus A-320 of Thai Asia successfully landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport with crew members onboard,” stated Raut, the airport’s Information Officer.

Thai Asia Airlines had recently received authorization to resume flights to Bhairahawa and Kathmandu, but there has been no marketing or ticket sales ahead of this launch.

The introductory one-way fare from Bhairahawa to Bangkok is set at Rs 12,000.

The AirAsia flight departed for Bangkok at 7:40 am.
