Minister Khadka reaffirms commitment to ADB-supported projects

KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the prompt completion of projects supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Nepal.

He assured that any issues arising during the implementation of these projects would be addressed swiftly.

In a meeting with Arnaud Cauchois, ADB’s Country Director for Nepal, held today at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation in Singha Durbar, Minister Khadka expressed gratitude for ADB’s support in developing Nepal’s energy sector.

He also expressed optimism about continued ADB assistance in the future.

The discussion centered on the progress of energy sector projects funded by the ADB and explored ways to enhance cooperation between the ADB and Nepal.

Minister Khadka encouraged the ADB to consider further investment in Nepal, citing the stable governance provided by the coalition of the country’s two largest political parties.

He also sought ADB’s support in Nepal’s transition from a Least Developed Country to a middle-income country.

In response, ADB’s Country Director, Cauchois, updated Minister Khadka on the progress and challenges associated with ADB-funded projects in Nepal.

He reiterated ADB’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s development goals.
