Motorcyclist dies in collision with tipper



DANG: A motorcyclist died after being hit by a tipper in Dang, leading locals to block the road in protest.

On Saturday night at around 8 o’clock, 39-year-old Kul Bahadur Basnet of Ghorahi-15 was killed when a tipper, Lu 2 B 5085, traveling from Ghorahi to Tulsipur, collided with his motorcycle, Ba 85 P 5605, which was heading in the opposite direction.

The incident occurred on the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section.

DSP Ramprasad Timalsina of the District Police Office Dang reported that Basnet, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, succumbed to his injuries at the Rapti Health Science Institute Ghorahi during treatment.

“The relatives of the deceased have blocked the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section of Dang,” Timalsina said.

The tipper driver, Shiva Bahadur Chhetri from Nawalparasi Sunwal-10, has been arrested, according to Timalsina.

The victim’s relatives and local residents are demanding justice, including action against those responsible and compensation for the family.
