25 cholera cases detected across Nepal



KATHMANDU: The number of confirmed cholera cases in the country has reached 25, as reported by the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD).

The latest update indicates that two new cases were identified in the past 24 hours.

Among the reported cases, 16 have been in Godawari municipality of Lalitpur district, 8 in Tokha municipality of Kathmandu district, and one in Dhangadi sub-metropolitan city in Kailali district. Cholera, a bacterial disease caused by Vibrio cholerae, spreads through contaminated food and water.

Public health experts recommend maintaining high standards of sanitation and drinking boiled water to prevent these waterborne illnesses.
