JSP led by Ashok Rai to support new alliance of NC and UML

KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) led by Ashok Rai has announced its support for the new alliance formed between the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML.

General Secretary Mohammad Ishtiyaq Rai stated that the ministers currently serving in the government will resign today to support the new alliance.

“Since the current government has lost its majority, the party has decided to move forward in accordance with the new situation by asking the ministers to resign,” he said.

A meeting of the party’s office-bearers, scheduled for today or tomorrow morning, will formalize this decision.

The meeting will review the recent political developments and decide on supporting the new government, added Rai.

The JSP currently has two ministers and one Minister of State in the present government.
