NC lawmaker Sitaula pushes for transitional justice and federalism in budget allocation

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) legislator Krishna Prasad Sitaula has forcefully advocated for the party’s stance, demanding the inclusion of transitional justice and the bolstering of federalism in the budget.

Addressing today’s National Assembly session, Sitaula emphasized the urgent need to address the challenges confronting the conflict-affected populace.

He denounced the budget allocation as inadequate to meet the requirements of transitional justice, highlighting significant shortcomings.

Expressing dismay over the government’s perceived inertia in delivering justice to those affected by the conflict, Sitaula raised doubts regarding the administration’s fidelity to constitutional principles.

He underscored the imperative of dispensing justice to safeguard the nation’s international reputation.

Furthermore, Sitaula deplored the absence of legislation pertaining to federalism, eight years post the constitution’s promulgation.
