NC lawmaker Gautam advocates for formation of national consensus government

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Sanjaya Kumar Gautam has underscored the necessity for reforms within the current governance framework and has called for the establishment of a government based on national consensus.

Speaking during the ‘special time’ session of the House of Representatives today, he appealed to all political parties to transcend partisan interests and prioritize the national agenda.

Lawmaker Gautam emphasized the importance of amending the constitution to facilitate the formation of a national consensus government, which could initiate transformative changes within the governance system.

He directed the attention of the government, through the Speaker, towards mitigating the risks associated with floods and landslides.

Gautam expressed concern over the declining water levels in the Karnali river and the escalating incidences of human-wildlife conflicts.
