T20 series: Nepal playing final match against West Indies today



KATHMANDU: Nepal, which lost the series, is gearing up for its final showdown against West Indies ‘A’ today.

After trailing 3-1 in the five-match T20I series, Nepal is facing its last chance for redemption.

The match is scheduled at TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur this afternoon.

In the fourth match, concluded on Thursday, West Indies ‘A’ secured a 28-run victory over Nepal, clinching the series with a lead.

Chasing a target of 210 runs set by West Indies in the fourth match, Nepal was dismissed for 181 runs within 20 overs.

Despite clinching the first match by four wickets, Nepal faced defeat in three consecutive matches.

The second match ended with a 10-run loss, while a staggering 76-run defeat followed in the third.

Despite the series loss, Nepal’s captain, Rohit Paudel, showcased remarkable performance throughout.

Paudel secured one century and two half-centuries across three matches.

Bagging a century in the opening match, Paudel followed up with two fifties in the subsequent encounters.
