By-Elections 2024: Ilam and Bajhang voter counts revealed



KATHMANDU: With the by-elections slated for April 27, the Election Commission (EC) has unveiled the definitive voter roll for the impending polls.

In a recent session held on Thursday, the Commission greenlit the final voter list, now accessible on the EC’s official website.

According to EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel, Ilam’s electoral constituency number 2 boasts 115,889 eligible voters, while Bajhang’s constituency number 1 tallies 61,748 voters for the upcoming electoral showdown.

The Commission divulged that the nation presently houses a total of 18,088,983 registered voters. Of this count, 8,886,226 are women, and 9,202,569 are men, all duly accounted for in the finalized voter list.

Further statistics shared by the EC outline Manang district as holding the least number of voters, a mere 6,849 individuals, split between 3,530 females and 3,319 males.

Conversely, Morang district emerges as the heavyweight, boasting a staggering 739,390 voters, comprising 362,973 females and 376,411 males.
