Maoist Center extends support to CPN-UML candidate for Ilam-2 by-election

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) has declared its backing for the CPN-UML candidate in the upcoming Ilam-2 by-election.

Suhang Nembang, the son of the late Subhash Nembang, has been nominated as the CPN-UML candidate for Ilam-2.

As a result of the Maoist Center’s decision, Dhirendra Sharma’s candidacy is set to be withdrawn in favor of supporting the CPN-UML.

The by-election in Ilam-2 is scheduled to take place on April 27, where contenders including Milam Limbu from RSP, Laxmi Gurung from RPP, and Jeet Bahadur Rai from CPN (Unified Socialist) are poised for a competitive race.

The Nepali Congress, the primary opposition party, is yet to announce its candidate.
