KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli has emphasized the imperative need for change to foster development and prosperity in the country.

Speaking at the 77th-anniversary program of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union (GEFONT) on Tuesday, former Prime Minister Oli highlighted the urgent requirement for transformation in the nation’s current situation, emphasizing the significance of both conclusion and progress.

“While positive changes are occurring amidst the current political instability, we remain committed to our mission for ‘Mission 2084,'” stated the UML Chairman.

He asserted that the UML has been intensifying its efforts with Mission 2084 in mind and will be the driving force for the country’s transformation.

Chairman Oli reiterated the notable strides in modernizing agriculture and expanding industrial development to enhance employment opportunities.

He directed the leaders and cadres of GEFONT to work with a focus on the interests of the working class, as well as the lower and middle strata of society.

Encouraging workers to refrain from resorting to strikes and closures, former Prime Minister Oli urged the practical implementation of policies and legal provisions, emphasizing the need to actively involve the youth in entrepreneurship to boost employment opportunities.
