Hit Bahadur Tamang to become Minister from Maoist Center

KATHMANDU: Hit Bahadur Tamang, a leader from the Maoist Center, is set to assume the role of a minister in the to-be-formed cabinet.

The announcement is expected to take place today, as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda plans to induct Tamang into the cabinet during a small-scale expansion.

Tamang, who secured a seat in the Federal Parliament by winning the House of Representatives election from Nuwakot-1, is to become a minister for the first time.

Tamang has already received the nod from the Prime Minister and has been instructed to initiate necessary preparations.

The swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers is anticipated to take place later this evening, marking a shift in the Council of Ministers’ composition.

Prime Minister Dahal, following the dissolution of the alliance with Nepali Congress, has formed a new coalition with CPN-UML.

As part of this reconstitution, a 4-member cabinet is set to be reshaped today, with gradual adjustments based on the remaining shares.
