UML Chairman Oli at PM’s residence in Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman, KP Oli, has reached the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to hold talks with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on government formation.

This visit comes on the heels of the recent agreement to form an alliance comprising CPN-UML, Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).

The alliance, forged just on Sunday evening, involves key players like UML, RSP and JSP which have aligned their interests.

Amid these political developments, UMl Chairman Oli, before departing for Baluwatar, lightened the mood by humorously remarking, “The Prime Minister called for tea.”

His intriguing statement adds a touch of informality to the otherwise serious political discussions.

The new alliance has implications for the formation of a new cabinet, with Prime Minister Dahal preparing for the upcoming changes.

As part of these preparations, an oath ceremony is being arranged for a representative from each of the four parties to be sworn in as a minister without a designated ministerial portfolio.
