National Assembly Chairman election recommended for March 12

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly (NA) has proposed the election for the position of Chairman to be held on March 12, following the conclusion of the current Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timalsina’s term along with 19 other members on March 3.

The NA has outlined a schedule to conduct the election within one week of Chairman Timalsina stepping down from his post.

While the calendar endorsed on Friday tentatively sets the election date for March 12, the final decision on the election date is pending.

The government recently held election for the seats of members, concluding on March 3. The newly elected members are slated to take their oath of office and secrecy on March 4.

The upcoming election for the National Assembly Chairman is a crucial event, and the NA is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
