National Assembly Chairman election likely on March 12

KATHMANDU: The election for the National Assembly Chairman is set to take place on March 12, as per the possible agenda prepared by the National Assembly’s Procedure Committee.

After the conclusion of Ganesh Timilsina’s tenure as the Chairman of the National Assembly, the position will become vacant. Therefore, the election for a new Chairman is imperative.

Timilsina’s term is set to end on March 4.

Earlier, on January 25, the Election Commission conducted elections for 19 out of the 20 vacant seats in the National Assembly, as one member is nominated by the President directly.

The upcoming election on March 12 will fill the remaining vacant seat, ensuring a complete representation in the National Assembly.
