Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar meets with President Poudel



KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar engaged in a crucial meeting with President Ram Chandra Poudel, where both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between Nepal and India.

During the discussions, President Poudel highlighted the need for enhanced cooperation in Nepal-India connectivity and joint efforts to address climate change and its impacts.

Kiran Pokharel, the press advisor to President Poudel, conveyed that President Poudel sought cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, energy, and tourism.

In response, Minister Jaishankar affirmed the Indian government’s commitment to providing continuous support in these areas.

Minister Jaishankar’s visit, part of the seventh edition of the Nepal-India Foreign Ministry-level Joint Commission, aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and foster cooperation. The Minister is scheduled to participate in the commission meeting later this afternoon and engage with political leaders, including President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli.
