Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar’s visit to Nepal: Uncovering the schedule

KATHMANDU: The much-anticipated visit of Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to Nepal has commenced, with his arrival at 10 am today, marking the initiation of the seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Foreign Minister-level Joint Commission.

Shortly after landing, Minister Jaishankar is set to engage in a crucial meeting with President Ram Chandra Poudel at 11 am, to be held at Sital Niwas.

The diplomatic agenda continues with a noon rendezvous as Minister Jaishankar calls on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal at Baluwatar. Subsequently, at 1 pm, he will engage in talks with his Nepali counterpart, Minister NP Saud, at Hotel Yak and Yeti.

A significant ministerial level meeting is scheduled at the same venue at 2:45 pm, where representatives of both nations will convene and formalize various agreements.

Post these official engagements, Minister Jaishankar is slated for political discussions, including meetings with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at 4 pm and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli at 4:30 pm.

The itinerary extends to tomorrow morning, where Minister Jaishankar will visit the revered Pashupatinath Temple and assess ongoing reconstruction activities in the vicinity.

The conclusion of the diplomatic mission will see Minister Jaishankar’s return to India on Friday afternoon. The visit holds immense significance in furthering bilateral relations and strengthening ties between the two nations.
