NPL: Chitwan Rhinos defeats Pokhara Avengers by 87 runs

KATHMANDU: Chitwan Rhinos defeated Pokhara Avengers by 87 runs in the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Tuesday.

Pokhara Avengers suffered a crushing defeat, with bowlers Sohail Tanbir and Region Dhakal wreaking havoc on their batting lineup.

Chasing a target of 162 runs set by Chitwan at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground, Pokhara Avengers could only manage 74 runs in 13.2 overs, losing all their wickets.

Pokhara, who won the toss and chose to bat first, were dealt an early blow when captain Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for a duck off the very first ball.

Sohail Tanbir had him caught by Rabi Bopar at first slip.

The collapse continued as three more wickets fell in the opening over.
