Four arrested on charge of betting in NPL

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested four people from Bihar, India, on charges of involvement in betting during the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket championship at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

According to Superintendent of Police Hobindra Bogati, the spokesperson for the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), the arrested are Suman Bhoj (24), Amit Yadav (25), Suman Kumar (24), and Brajesh Kumar (25). Bhoj and Yadav were apprehended on Monday, while Kumar and Brajesh were arrested today.

The suspects have been presented in court, where authorities are seeking a time for further investigation into the betting case under the Penal Code, it is said.
