PM Oli and Chinese Premier Li to meet today

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli, who is currently on a visit to China, will hold a formal bilateral meeting with the top Chinese leadership on Tuesday.

During the meeting at the Great Hall of the People, an agreement on bilateral cooperation and exchanges is expected to be signed.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the National People’s Congress, Zhao Leji.

He will also pay a courtesy call on Chinese President Xi Jinping today.

The Chinese leadership will welcome Prime Minister Oli at the Great Hall of the People with a guard of honor from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

Following the reception, bilateral talks will take place between Prime Minister Oli and Premier Li, with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in attendance.

The two sides are expected to sign an agreement on cooperation and exchange after the talks.

Prime Minister Oli is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

As part of his visit, he will address an event at Peking University.

Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that he will speak at the Nepal-China Business Forum, which is jointly organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

After completing his engagements, Prime Minister Oli and his delegation will return to Nepal on December 5.

He arrived in Beijing on Monday for the four-day visit.

Prime Minister Oli is accompanied by a large delegation, including his wife Radhika Shakya.

The Nepali team includes Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, parliamentarians, high-ranking government officials, private sector representatives, and media personnel.
