Thai Asia begins Bhairahawa-Bangkok flights



KATHMANDU: Thai Asia Airlines has officially commenced flights between Bangkok and Bhairahawa beginning today (Sunday).

At 6:05 this morning, the inaugural ThaiAsia flight landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport, carrying seven crew members.

“Initially, this was a test flight. The Airbus A-320 of Thai Asia successfully landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport with crew members onboard,” stated Binod Singh Raut, the airport’s Information Officer.

Upon arrival in Bhairahawa, the flight was welcomed by airport staff, security personnel, immigration officials, and local tourism professionals.

Thai Asia Airlines had recently received authorization to resume flights to Bhairahawa and Kathmandu, but there has been no marketing or ticket sales ahead of this launch.

The introductory one-way fare from Bhairahawa to Bangkok is set at Rs 12,000.

The AirAsia flight departed for Bangkok at 7:40 am.
