House of Representatives meeting taking place today

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) under the Federal Parliament is scheduled for today at 1 pm.

During today’s meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire is expected to read a letter concerning the verification of the bill received from the Office of the President.

Additionally, the concerned ministers will respond to questions related to the Ministry of Urban Development; the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security; and the Ministry of Water Supply.

Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri, Chairman of the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on the misappropriation of cooperative society savings funds, will present a proposal for the extension of the committee’s term.

Similarly, Amar Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee, is scheduled to present two reports: the ‘Report of the Committee on Nepal University Bill, 2081’ and the ‘Report of the Committee on Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2081,’ both of which originated in the National Assembly.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel is scheduled to propose that the ‘Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081’ and the ‘Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2081’ be sent to the relevant committee for quarterly discussion.
