NC directs 10 sister organizations to hold general conventions by end of Chaitra

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has extended the term of ten sister organizations that have been operating contrary to party regulations due to their failure to hold regular general conventions.

The Central Working Committee meeting at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, on Wednesday, decided to extend the terms of Nepal Student Union, Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Women Association, Nepal Dalit Association, and six other sister organizations.

A meeting held on July 1 had previously decided to extend the terms of these organizations.

The meeting also decided to form different directive committees to ensure the completion of the general conventions of these sister organizations.

According to Krishna Prasad Paudel, the  Chief Secretary at the central office, the meeting mandated the directive committees of Nepal Student Union, Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Women Association, Nepal Farmers Federation, Nepal Dalit Sangh, Nepal Democratic Sports Association, Nepal Prajatantra Senani Sangh, Nepal Ex-servicemen Association, National Democratic Disabled Association, and Nepal Tharu Association to compulsorily complete their general conventions by the end of Chaitra.
