KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has directed reporters to inquire about his alleged involvement in the Giribandhu Tea Estate scam directly to Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Sah.

Addressing the media outside the Parliament building on Monday, the UML Chair responded succinctly, suggesting that reporters should seek clarification from Mayor Balen himself.

Earlier, Mayor Sah had accused former Prime Minister Oli of attempting to cover up a scam worth Rs. 10 billion and misleading the public by diverting attention.

Additionally, on Monday, Mayor Sah alleged that the government had attempted to divert public attention from corruption scandals by exaggerating minor issues.

Balen expressed frustration over the Department of Road Division’s interference in the metropolitan’s efforts to expand sidewalks in New Road.
